trock Posted March 10, 2008 #101 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I agree that there are some on these boards that seem to be paid by carnival to "jump" on anyone who does not agree with them...some have sailed the ship one time and all of the sudden they are "experts" ...give me a break how can you be that knowledgable on one cruise on the ship...did you even have any fun or take notes all day long?I love this site for info and find that you must take every post with a grain of salt...I have only been on one cruise and loved it...no comments good or bad will stop me from making up my own mind when I sail the Miracle in May 08..I have been around in many vacation destinations and have had some bad experiences...but they NEVER spoiled my vacation! Since I have not been a part of this board as long as others I will also be a "TROLL" Right you are! I completely agree with you.. and I also believe in giving something a 2nd chance...But the Miracle (never on it.. going this may) does get rave reviews... I hope they are right! deweydjb Posted March 10, 2008 #102 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I am excited to go on the Miracle next year. In fact I am going twice because of the great Itinerarys. I sailed on the Triumph this past year and I thought the food was so-so and my waiter wasn't awesome, but some of the food was very good and I always got what I ordered and if I didn't like something he took it away and brought me something else. And I always got ice cream as well as another dessert and had so much fun I am sailing Carnival again. and I thought I would HATE Carnival! So, yeah, there are some things I do like better than others but hey, it is a cruise. I am going to have the time that I make it! D
djwood24 Posted March 10, 2008 #103 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Ohh yeah, we're paid by Carnival.....LOL!!! I wish. Well let's just see if the OP comes back and posts some other things. Somehow I doubt it. I have been on this board long enough to see these "one post wonders". They post a bad post to stir the pot and then are never to be heard from again.;) We will see if this poster comes back. I think that's good that you won't let any comments stop you from sailing on the Miracle. You definitely should make up your own mind. But I'm pretty sure you will have a great time. :D Oh I will have a great time as I have been around enough to know that some people love it some hate it but I will be making up my own mind I would also like to thank everyone who does add info about all the ships as it gives you so much excitement before you sail to find the little things that you may miss...I do not think they will be back ... as they could find NOTHING good about the entire cruise...guess they stayed away from the bars...LOL
JenSDCA Posted March 10, 2008 #104 Share Posted March 10, 2008 Man, if we're on Carnival's payroll, why can't they at least give us the booze card?????????

There is an additional charge of 30 p/p but so worth it. The service, food and ambiance is outstanding in there. I equate it to an upscale fine dining establishment. They also have a singer and a keyboard player. My husband and I went one night. It's very romantic. The lights are dimmed low. Here is a link to the menu. http://unofficialcarnivalwiki.com/wiki/Supper_Club It's not all you can eat like the dining room. They give you appetizer, salad, entree, dessert and coffee or tea, but you won't want seconds. The portions are very large and you will be very full. :p
Cruiser from MS Posted March 10, 2008 #106 Share Posted March 10, 2008 My cruise on the Miracle was not my best cruise but it was not my worse by any means. If you go on a cruise and expect not everything is going to be perfect you will have a great time. As you can see by this board not everyone thinks the same about this ship, but it's a cruise and it will be great. I had a great time in spite of the things I did not like about this ship. fostergrants Posted March 10, 2008 #107 Share Posted March 10, 2008 I had the complete opposite experience. The staff was amazing and helpful, the food was wonderful,(for the record I have been in th restaurant business for 16 years and all upscale restaurants, not chains, but fine dining), the ships decor was nice, the ship was clean, the pool was nice, it was wonderful. I am skeptical of the post, I am not saying not true, but exaggerated. The fact that everyone he spoke with felt the same and everyone with him????? Considering past reviews and my own experience, other I know personally who have been on there, I guessing they had a bad experience and are playing it up even more. momofzeke Posted March 10, 2008 #109 Share Posted March 10, 2008 We travel to Vegas at least 4 times a year. They don't even compare to being as smokey as the cruise ship casinos......... Yeah, we go there a lot too ~ five times last year ~ our son lives there. Depends on which casino you're in. Granted, the ship casinos are much smaller. But, after several days in Vegas, I'm always ready to go home and de-smoke myself. :p I love Vegas, though, even though I'm not a smoker. I just always know there will be smoke in the casinos and I will just deal with it. It certainly won't keep me from going back and having a great time. ;)
cruisersunsetbrat Posted March 10, 2008 #110 Share Posted March 10, 2008 We travel to Vegas at least 4 times a year. They don't even compare to being as smokey as the cruise ship casinos......... Been to Vegas - did not notice much of a difference. I don't think cruise ship casinos are any worse than anywhere else. IMHO smokers LOVE casinos. They can light up anywhere, anytime. I have had some very rude smokers sit down next to me and light up one right after another and blow it right in my face. As a non-smoker and cancer survivor, I find this extremely offensive. I think a non-smoking area in all casino areas would be wonderful. They have a right to smoke. I have a right to clean air and not breathe it. I think the difference with Vegas is they have smoke machines that clear the air.. i am not sure they have this on the ships. I smoke but i would not even play near the non smoking area... cruisersunsetbrat Posted March 11, 2008 #121 Share Posted March 11, 2008 I can not wait! I am so excited i am ready to start packing! I was primarily responding to those who say that cruise ships/cruise ship casinos are as "smoky" as Vegas casinos. I was a smoker for years as well as my DH and can certainly relate to the rights of both sides. There are many considerate smokers. I just believe smokers have the right to smoke and the rest of us have a right to not breathe it. I will definitely be looking for those non-smoking areas on the cruise ships.
