and where is the best place to do this? Are there beaches sort of like paradise beach at cozumel that have an "admission fee" and then you get water activities? I heard that it is sometimes hard to get taxis to take you to certain beach areas. What is the deal?

You'll find alot of watersports on 7 mile beach as well as at Rum point. The banana boats run 15.00 a person and the wave runners are 65-75 per half hour. Alot of 7 mile beach has watersports rental right down on the beach
