Please help - Montego Bay - Mayfield Falls

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give us. We are docking in Montego Bay next week and thinking about going to Mayfield Falls w/a private tour operator. Has anyone done this recently? How long does it really take to get there (I've heard anywhere from 45 mins to 1 1/2 hrs)? We don't want to be in a van for an hour, thinking of hanging it up and just going to Sunset Beach, except that we'd really like to see some of Jamaica. Comments please.

go! go! GO! we were there the week of 2/17-2/24 on vos. We had a great time. (my DH, DD10, DD7). We hired A-Z vacation planners. Mark was our guide. we went to mayfiled falls which we all loved. (bring your own watershoes) The drive is a very bumpy 45 min. But, you get to see a lot of small villages, mountains, everyday jamaican life. and with a guide to point things out to you, it goes by fast. mark told us about the plants, trees, animals, people. We had a really nice time. He took us to lunch afterward and then dropped us at dr. cave beach for about 2 hours and then back to the ship. loved it.

I agree with previous poster. We used A - z as well and had a great time with a superb guide at the falls. Go for it!

for review on Mayfield Falls. We are booked also, w/Trevor Hudlin Tours who has also been recommended on these boards. Can't wait to see Jamaica!

It has been a couple of years but when we went to Mayfield Falls we loved it. We loved going into the hillside of MoBay that was our favorite part. We had a great guide who explained so much to us and it is really beautiful when you get up in there.
