Time for Butchart Gardens

How much time should you allow to visit Butchart Gardens? Can you bring your own food in?

A a minimum of two hours (and that doesn't count time spent wandering in the beautiful gift shop). The parking lot (which is a lovely spot surrounded by trees) has lots of picnic tables. Leave your lunch in your vehicle and then you can wander back to your car and eat whenever you please. You pay the entrance fee before you enter the parking area, so you can come and go to your car without actually leaving the Gardens.

I concur with the OP, you can spend a whole day there particualrly in the spring and summer but 2 hrs would be the minimum and 3 hrs would be more comfortable.
