westtexas Posted March 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2008 We are planning a cruise on the Pride of America in November. My elderly in-laws will be joining us. We plan to book adjoining balcony cabins. My in-laws may not be willing or able to participate in shore excursions each day. So, I would like some advice on the best side for a cabin so that they can best enjoy days sitting on the balcony. Also any recommendations for deck and or specific cabin that users would like to provide would be appreciated.
hawaiilvr Posted March 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2008 If you can afford it, and if they are available, the aft cabins are wonderful, especially for the Na Pali coastline sailing in Kauai. The balconies are very deep - much larger than the standard balcony cabins. It is hard to say which side is best because the ships don't always dock pointing the same direction when they are in port. I have seen webcam shots of the ship pointed differently in Honolulu and Kauai. When we in Honolulu, our aft balcony gave us a great view of Honolulu, and when in Kauai, we looked out toward the open ocean. We were in cabin 9702. The port side will give you a great view when off Kona, and a great seat for the Na Pali coastline, but the starboard will give you a better view on Maui.
