Gingee Posted March 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2008 My mom is going to meet us in NYC but she is flying (we are taking a train). We are staying at the Radio City apartments by Times Square. What is the closest airport? Thanks

smeyer418 Posted March 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2008 Its true LGA is the closest but if she is flying coast to coast the non stops go into either Kennedy of EWR.

etoile Posted March 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Personally I feel that JFK is better because you have the option of taking the train into downtown. However, I believe all the airports have the same flat rate for taxi to/from Manhattan.

Its meter plus toll and tip. From EWR its about $60-70. depending on where you are going. Car services are about the same as a cab(sometimes a little less from EWR).... Budd Posted March 25, 2008 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2008 SMeyer418: Thanks for correcting me about the NY airports. I believe you are friends of Jan & Roger from the UK. They are also good friends of mine. Tell Jan you "spoke" with me.
nychelle02 Posted March 25, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2008 LaGuardia is closest. JFK has better flights. Newark is good if you are leaving out of Cape Liberty NJ
Gingee Posted March 25, 2008 Author #10 Share Posted March 25, 2008 Thanks. She booked her plan to LaGuardia. Liked the times better. Next question. Are there shuttles to Manhatten Area? Any experience on limos? There will be five us needing a limo or two taxis from the hotel to the cruise line. Is it better using two taxis or one limo? Any experience on limos? There will be five us needing a limo or two taxis from the hotel to the cruise line. Is it better using two taxis or one limo? Take a taxi from LGA-about $35.00 to your hotel And if you are leaving from the West Side piers, you aren't but 10 blocks from the port at your hotel. Just have the concierge arrange two taxis. Probably not more than $15.00 including tip each.
