We are 48 & 46 from Austin. Just about to complete 12 years together this month. This will be our 1st on RCCL. 3 others on Carnival - - Large group cruises with the church. . . as many as 300 gay folks. Loads of fun. Just wanted to try different line and itinerary. Looking forward to this one.

We're going in early too. Arriving Friday afternoon/evening 10/24. Staying at Embassy Suites Resort near airport. We have a bunch of Hilton points to use, so we grabbed a couple of nights there. Now if I can just keep Tony out of the casino before we board the ship . . . . . .

Hi everyone,

My partner & I just booked this cruise. We usually do the Halloween cruise with Aquafest but decided to do this instead, got a deal we couldn't pass up. Looking forward to a great cruise.

Take care and have a great night!

Kent & Andy

My partner and I are going 9/7/08 for the first time on Adventure. Looking forward to a different type of cruise and ports, this will only be the second time we had to fly to a port for embarkation. Living in South Florida makes it easy since I hate flying with all of the hassles now.

sorry to bust into your board but I just had to say hello to kenth59. We sailed on the Rhapsody together back in 05. Miss you guys, had a great time. Still waiting on the pics you took of me and my cousin on the pier in costa maya.

Again sorry to bust into your board.

kris4842 - - sorry to hear of your troubling issues with rccl. Not sure of your circumstances, but it seems they could have been more accommodating to the situation, given that you are a returning customer. Hope things work out for the best because we certainly hope to see you on board.

Hey, Kent & Andy. Great to have you along. Another couple of Texas boys here too. Looking forward to meeting you on the ship. I'm sure this will be a great cruise.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the welcome. Look forward to meeting you all to. This will be our second time on Adventure and we really enjoy this class of ship. What church group did you sail with?

We used to attend Freedom Oaks when we lived south of Austin.

Sara,

You aren't busting in on our board, glad to hear from you! I found the picture you are referring to and would be glad to send it. I can't find your email address though. Email me at kenth59 at hotmail dot com and I will get it sent to you.

You should join us on this cruise, it is a great ship and will be alot of fun.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Kent

Kent/Andy - - Yes, MCC Freedom Oaks would be the church. And I see that you sailed the Celebration in 2003. Were you on that cruise with us? I think it was Oct 25, if I remember.

Jon/Tony,

No we were actually a couple of weeks before you all. We sailed with a travel agency group that is based in Dallas. We heard about the Church group cruise after we had already booked this one and weren't able to change.

Take care and have a great day,

Where did everyone go???

Have a great night.

Hi, guys. Sorry we've been quiet. Lots going on. But that being said, we've been busy searching/booking airfare & looking at possible excursions. So much we want to do in the various ports. Been looking at others' reviews to help decide. All 5 ports (including SJU) are new for us. We're open to reccomendations. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the pictures guys. Even though I am making a strange face in that first one. :p

You are welcome! I am glad that I was able to find it so easily.

Hi guys,

I can definately understand about a lot going on. Have you had any luck with flights, we are getting ours through RCCL as of right now but may change that if I find any good prices. St. Maarten we have always gone to Orient Beach, St. Thomas we have done an Island tour, gone to Megan's Bay a couple of times and last time we went over to St. John's. As for Aruba and Curacao we haven't been to those ports either so couldn't make any knowledgeable suggestions for them.

Hope that everyone is having a great weekend,

Kent

I grabbed airfare on AA just before they hiked the prices this last time, fearing they will probably hike them again very soon. Airfare out of Austin is just way too expensive. Houston and DFW are much cheaper. We're flying out of Houston (connecting Miami) rather than Austin (connecting DFW). Houston's only 2.5 hours away, and we can stay with friends the night before departure. The fare was about $80 cheaper per person than Austin. And the schedules are better. We can actually return to Houston, drive home, and be here about 2 hours sooner than if we flew back to Austin thru DFW. We are going in 2 days early to do some sight seeing, so even if AA decides to screw around with the schedules between now and then, at least we have some flexibility.

Thanks for the tips on St Maarten. Was looking at Orient Beach, so that may be on our radar. But also thinking about an opportunity to sail/crew on one of the Americas' Cup yachts. May be a bit expensive, but I have always been a cup fan, and love to sail. It would be hard to pass it up. Tony's not the sailor, but he is a beach comber, so we may have to find a way to do both at St Maarten.

One of the high priorities for me is parasailing. Never done it before, and I can't wait to try. I will try to talk Tony into it. We'll see how it plays out. St Thomas would be a great place for this, I think. But, as you suggested, we may also want a day trip over to St John.

Decisions, decisions.

I feel like a dog standing between a fire hydrant and a tree.

Oh well, got plenty of time to figure this out.

Hope you guys have a great weekend. If Mom's Day plans take you on the road, then travel safely. Talk to you soon.

Just thought I would check in and say hi to see how everyone is doing. We have been watching flights and they are definately going up in price.

Right now we are doing the flight throught RCCL but may change that if prices go back down.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Kent & Andy
