JerseyJT Posted March 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2008 We are planning to spend a day @ Stanley Park during our Post Cruise Stay in Vancouver. How long would it take to bike around Stanley Park taking mostly the SeaWall route? We plan to take a leisurely pace and stop at the sights. Where is a good spot to stop to eat lunch? Also looking for any recommendations for where to rent bikes.
Urban trekker Posted March 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2008 As one who frequently bikes around the Seawall - I will try to answer your question - to go around the Seawall is about 6 miles and if you are on bike path and not the road you speed is to be limited to 10 miles an hour - most of the trip is one way - counter clockwise around the Park - there are many more attractions to stop and see at the beginning of the ride than at the end - there are many attractions that you may want to see that are not on the regular route but easily accessible by bike - there are a couple of beaches as well so if it a sunny warm day you may want to stop a little longer. There are a couple of higher priced restaurants + several park concessions. Here's a link to the Park website to help you plan your trip: http://vancouver.ca/parks/parks/stanley/index.htm As for bike shops - there are three or four of them at Denman and Georgia - the entrance to the park: Here's a link to a website that has some rental information: http://englishbay.com/recreation#bikes Hope this helps Cheers Dennis
