ho Posted April 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2008 It has been a year since I sailed on Princess and I understand they now have you use your cruise card in the slot machines at the casino. Can you also use it at the tables to have your play tracked? I understand Princess is promoting it as a casino reward system but no one has been able to provide any details. Just wondering if anyone knows how it works and if it is truly a reward program or just a way for princess to avoid the use of cash and make it a little easier to spend money in the casino. NicoLee Posted April 1, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2008 I have no idea about the rewards program but I will be on the crown in 11 days and plan spend some time in the casino so I will find out for you.
Toto2Kansas Posted April 1, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2008 The reward is $10 cash back after you hit 1000 credits played in the slots. I don't play the tables so I have no idea how that works.

Just wondering if anyone knows how it works and if it is truly a reward program or just a way for princess to avoid the use of cash and make it a little easier to spend money in the casino. It works like this....you use your s&s card like you would a casino players club card. It records your play. I think you get 1 point for each dollar bet. When you reach 1000 points, you will receive $10 free play. If you want, you can open an account on the card (very easy) with a pin number and credit your winnings to your card. Then when you move to a different machine, you can load your casino credits (any amount) to your machine......and so on. At the end of the cruise, you cash in whatever you may have left. They will not track your play at the tables unless to bet the minimums....which are something like $25 hand for 2 hours. The thing you need to know about using the S&S card is it tracks your entire play for future cruises......look at the Ocean Players Club webpage. If you check in with the casino host, he/she can explain everything with you and they will also make you as comfortable as possible (drinks etc).....a good person to know! Then all you have left to worry about is what to do with all the money you'll win!!!!!!! Good luck.

bhopal21 Posted April 2, 2008 #10 Share Posted April 2, 2008 ladypalmtree did you meet Letecia in the casino on The Golden? She is the host that signed me up for the Ocean Players Club and was very generous with the cocktails every evening when we sailed last month. ladypalmtree Posted April 2, 2008 #13 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Mike, I did not meet her. I spent many an hour in the casino. I cannot take much sun. I played wolf run a lot..five dollar bet..and won a nice amount. I also liked Pegasus. I meet a guy who had three college aged daughter with him. He was a single dad and footing the bill. He won 8 grand on the trip..on dollar and five dollar machines. He said the bill from the girls for the trip would be a big one...he was so excited that it would be paid for. He kept to his original budget for gambling..and put the rest in the safe..He did buy drinks for everyone when he won the jackpots...Nice guy...lpt:D
bhopal21 Posted April 2, 2008 #14 Share Posted April 2, 2008 I think the casino rewards program will be a definite profit enhancer for Princess when passengers realize how easy it is to utilize. Funds can very easily be withdrawn and or deposited into their shipboard accounts without having to go to the cashier's cage and also without having to pay the 3% upcharge as in the past. It also keeps the player on the stool in front of the machines longer.:D :D Mike:)
ho Posted April 2, 2008 Author #15 Share Posted April 2, 2008 Thanks guys for all the information. Yes we will also be on the Golden but for the pacific cost cruise not Alaska. We have done Alaska twice and love it but not this time. The free drinks would be a welcome surprise. This will be my 6th Princess cruise and I have never been given a free drink for playing in the casino and my wife tells me I play much more then I should. I prefer blackjack, and now that they have poker, I like hold em but will still throw a few buck in the video poker machines as well. The pay back schedule on the ships video poker machines are terrible so a few free drinks would help. I am not sure how this will go over with the wife, she insist Vegas is for gambling and the cruise is for relaxing, if she finds out they now have host in the ships casino things could get ugly. Oh well it's the chance us gamblers have to take. I will send whomever the host is your regards for showing you a great time. Thanks
