Norwegian Star cabin & West Coast itinerary ?

We are planning to book The Norwegian Star 9-21-08 on a repositioning

cruise > Vancouver, Victoria, Oregon, San Francisco & LA. We want

a suite on The Star but mostly all are on Deck 12 .. below the pool deck.

I have heard this can be noisy & a mistake... a few suites are in the

back of the ship... Is this a good idea ??... or would you recommend a lower deck like 10 & there we would be in the back ?? or on the side ?? what is best?

Finally what can we

expect 9-21-08 weather wise & is taking a repositioning cruise a mistake ??

Thanks

head over to the NCL boards:

to get the best information from the people who have been on her.

the star is a lovely ship...we did her to alaska in sept of 06.

many, many people only do the aft of the ship. you can get amazing views.

i don't do suites, so i have no personally information on the suites. we had a balcony of deck 10.

just remember, that the AFs (mini-suites) are not full suites, they don' t have the butlers or extra perks that the full suites do. the aft suites are deck 9 and 10 are suppose to be fabulous. the suites are deck 11 are good for families. (with the mini-suites or inside cabins for the rest of the family)

I was on the Dawn, sister ship of the Star and I was in an AF suite on Deck 11. (Deck 12 is the pool deck on the Dawn & Star) I was directly under the pool area and there was no noise issue at any time. The ship is well insulated.

I have been on the Star twice. Once to Hawaii and once to Alaska. She is a great ship.
