Tournament winners get $750 and an entry to a tournament this Fall, 2nd place gets your entry back. The tables themselves are a $1/$2 no limit, with a 10% rake with no maximum for the cash game. The tables run at least double the hands per hour than if a dealer was present. The tables themselves are not bad to play on, but that rake is insane. Give me a dealer!:p Poker is just not a big money maker for ships. For the space, they can make much more $$ by just setting up a slot machine. They use to have live dealers, but I think they decided the machines were better and they could use those dealer to work the more profitable games. My husband actually played last week on the Elation several times, there is no dealer, but there are still 8-9 other people and it was always a very social game. As my DW said we were on Elation and I played quite a bit. Our casino host siad there was a $6.00 limit on the rake. Also the blinds can be changed or even set to no limit if everyone at the table agrees. We always had plenty of players, and even had a waiting list at times! I agree. I played on the Freedom. While the dealer might be electronic (ProkerPro) there were usually 10 to 12 live players. It always felt as social as any Vegas table. I won about $400 in two days. It was $1/$2 No limit stakes and the rake is steep (12% with a max of $6 per hand) but it was a fast paced, fun game. so, if you are losing, you will lose more. If you are winning, you will win less. If you sit out every hand, you'll only lose your blinds. I think the number of players at any one time and the demand depends on the cruise and the demographics of the passengers. In my experience, the table was empty most days, and busier at night after dinner. At any one time, there were 4 to 9 players (maybe 10, I forget). I'll play again on my next cruise.
