ohiocruisemom56 Posted April 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2008 I"m looking at going on Celebrity Solstice next winter. We haven't done Celebrity in a while and are platinum on RCI. The travel agent priced concierge level, but when I look online all the cabins with balconies look the same. Any idea what's the difference (besides location) between a 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, and 2C cabin? And whether or not it's worth the extra (besides getting 2 points for captain's club) to go concierge? Thanks! Virginia
hajekfam Posted April 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2008 The concierge class has more amenities which are listed on Celebrity's website. Concierge Class Indulgences: • Welcome champagne • Daily fruit selection • Fresh-cut flowers • Daily hors d'oeuvres • Pillow Menu - Conformance, Body,Goose, and Isotonic® • Duvets and pillow-top mattresses • Leather key holder, personalized stationery and a tote bag • Frette bathrobes • Hansgrohe® showerhead • VIP invitations to events • Early embarkation and debarkation • Early embarkation and debarkation • Dining and seating preference • Preference on shore excursions • Express luggage delivery • Shoeshine service As far as if its worth it, it is a personal decision on your part if the cost increase is worth the amenties. Some of the amenities are also given to captains club members depending on your level such as VIP invitations to private events. Since you are platinum on RCI, you can join the Captains club if you aren't already members at the reciprocal level of select on Celebrity. If you are a classic member of captains club (1-5 cruise credits), you can can up your membership to select. To get that level, you need to call the captains club and give them your crown & anchor membership number. The cruise credit count would be kept separate for each line, they do not combine the counts. The difference so far between the different cabin categories for the same type (inside, oceanview, verandah, concierge class, etc) of cabin is location. Since the ship isn't finished yet an nobody has been onboard, there is no way to acurately tell which cabins have larger balconies as drawings are not always accurate. If you want to see the differences between the different types (concierge, verandah, sunset verandah, etc) you can go to Celebrity's website and: Click on Plan a cruise Click on Ships Click on Solstice Click on Celebrity Solstice details and then select up to 3 to compare.
