Galveston Best Western?

Recommended Posts

We are planning on driving down the day before for our first cruise (Conquest). Thought if we were paying for a hotel we might as well get one with cruise parking. Has anyone stayed at the Best Western Beachfront Inn in Galveston? How was it? They say they have cruise parking. Is the parking very secure? Do they have a shuttle? Thanks for the answers

They use a lot across the street for cruise parking. No fence or security that I saw. No shuttle. We stayed here once and were given a smoking room after booking a non-smoking.

Now we use Holiday Inn on the Beach during off-season. Free Parking and a shuttle service, but they are a bit pricey during the season. On our last two cruises we stayed in Cleveland, which is a couple of hours north of Galveston. Rooms were alot cheaper and we used E Z Park for a parking lot.

we stayed there in Feb 2007...we thought it was ok...nothing special, but not bad either...I have certainly stayed in much worse...room seemed nice enough, especially for the cost...the cruise parking was in a lot behind the hotel...it wasnt fenced in or anything...but when we returned, other than our car being covered with seagull s---, it was fine...they dont provide a shuttle...I think the taxi cost around $15 to the cruise terminal... :)

Just stayed there Mar 28 and 29...was nice room for the price. ..they do not have a shuttle but taxi was $13.00 for two of us to the ship. We had rented a car in Houston and left it there all week. They have you park the car in the lot in front of the hotel. We had no problems..Left the shipm took a taxi to the car and caught a 9:45 flight out of Houston.

We stayed at the BW once. It was okay but nothing special. On our last cruise we stayed at the Harbor House for about the same price as the BW. You need to book direct with the HH and be sure to have AAA or any other discount.

We stayed there in November of 2005 for our first cruise. Rooms were typical rooms - clean and what we needed. They didn't have a shuttle back then, but they did have a decent hot breakfast bar with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. The cruise parking was in the back of the hotel.

That's where we always stay unless there is something big going on in Galveston as they triple the hotel rates for big events. We love the Best Western Beachfront. The rooms are clean, with coffee makers, and they have a continental breakfast in the morning. They must have changed their cruise parking because it used to be the lot in front of the office. We never used the free parking but drove to the terminal and parked there. Travelgirl
