Fee for fitness equipment?

I was just curious, does Carnival charge a fee to use the fitness quipment in the spa/gym? Or is it included in the cost of the cruise?

Not to my knowledge. My sister and I used the equipment on our last cruise and never paid anything.

Certain classes though are not free. If you want to take a Pilates or Spinning class, the fee is $10.00 per class session.

I just started spinning classes and would love to hear from anyone that has done it aboard ship. My current instructor is very "intense" Im wondering if the classes on the ship are more laidback.

I worked out 4 of the 7 days we were onboard. Hard to do after a night of drinking but thought it was at least justification for the over eating I was doing.

Similarly, if you are using the jogging track at the top of the ship, can you feel the swaying of the ship? Can you feel it enough that it interferes with running? I am a very clumsy person...I never really got that whole coordination thing down....

Never really noticed the ship's movement on the jogging track, but be prepared for the wind factor - that adds intensity in itself! :p

I noticed movement on the treadmill more than the jogging track. The balancing act adds some intensity to the treadmill, too.:eek:

We had the wind and movement. Left out of Frances skirted Ivan and went thru the one in the Pacific sooo, if no hurricans not bad:)

We've worked out on Triumph, Destiny, Elation and soon, Pride. The other posters are right. Everything is free unless you want to take a specialized class like spinning or aerobics. My better half took spinning classes on Elation and they cost her $10 per class that was charged to our onboard account. And everyone is right - there's more movement on the treadmills than on the jogging track. But it feels so good to work out after making pigs of ourselves.

I can barely keep my balance on my own treadmill in my apartment on solid ground...I dont' think I'll attempt one at sea. Bring on the windy jogging track!
