Ecstasy 4/24/08 Camp Carnival question.

This is our 5th cruise, but the first time we will be taking our 8 year old son. I was noticing that they group kids 6-8 together. I was looking over activities and it looks like my son would be way more interested in the 9 and up group. He is still a few months away from 9. He plays golf, baseball, rides motorcross an experienced sailor on our sailboat and he's already beat every xbox 360 game Ive bought him:) I already know that he will hate fun ship freddy and finger painting:) He wants to play video game competitions and do the scavenger hunt with the 9 and up group. Can I get him in the 9 and up group? I just want him to have a good time, and get to do things he's interested in. If he hates it, no problem, we will just keep him with us. Thanks for any help!
