Boston to Canada. port or starboard

Hi, I am thinking about taking a cruise from Boston to Canada in the Fall to look at the fall colors. I would presume that you see more if you have a stateroom on the left side looking forward from the aft (port I think). Is this correct? Thanks

It all depends on what you want to see. If you want to see the east coast of the US then port. If you want to see the north side of the St-Lawrence as you approach the Saguenay fjords and Quebec City and Montreal, then you want to be starboard.

I think starboard is the best bet on the Boston-Mtl route.

 

As Ephraim pointed out, you sail right in front of the skylines which are all on the north shore of the river.

But that's just for a few minutes around Montreal and another few around Quebec, right? One could see those out on deck? Or is the north side scenery nicer all day in the St. Lawrence? If so, why?
