Leejnd4 Posted April 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2008 Anyone know how I can get a copy of Silver Wind's Epicurian wine list?
duct tape Posted April 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2008 Supposedly, you can get one from Ft Lauderdale, but in the recent past, folks have posted that it is nearly impossible! Good luck.
simonv Posted April 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2008 Maybe they can't keep up with the current stock to publish a list? The stock changes all the time. A sommerier told us that, due to the constant vibration, onboard is the worst environment for wines, and they can't count on keeping wines more than 60? days or so. He said once he had to open three Chateau Lafite till he got a good one. Can you imagine the cost of maintaining premium wines on ships like Silversea? newlondon Posted April 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 15, 2008 The somelier on SW last summer (Carolina) told us the premium wines change all the time. Any list you get now will probably out of date by the time of your cruise. The PP was absolutely correct. The problem of constant motion and vibration makes keeping a large inventory almost impossible.
lord of the seas Posted April 17, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 17, 2008 Wine is also purchased when in port. The bar manager has a budget to spend on good deals whilst ashore.
