I was just at Passion Island last week. I was on the Voyager of the Seas. I found this excursion to be a good one. The island is beautiful, they feed you a good lunch and free drinks. The bathrooms are clean and there were plenty of beach chairs. If you go to the meet and mingle section of these boards to the Voyager 3/21 posts on page 9 there is link to a couple of pictures.(sorry I don't know how to post a link) If you have any other questions post them and I will try to answer. Hope this helps.

Are there any activities for people to do on the island? Or is it just a place to relax? Some people in my group are afraid that they are going to be board for 5 hours.

I want to do this, as by the time we get to Cozumel we are beat. My concern though is that my wife is pregnant. I have heard that there is a bumpy bus ride involved. Is it too much for a pregnant woman, or just some old dirt road? How long is the ride? Thanks

I don't have any pictures but did do this excursion last year. It was one of our favorites. As far as the ride out is concerned it is a bumpy old dirt road. I'm sure that it wouldn't be too bumpy for someone that is pregnant. Once you get there it looks pretty bad, but then you get one a little boat and ferry across to the island. You get off the boat and walk a short distance to the right, this is where the lunch is served. Chicken, fish, rice, beans, ships, guacamole, and some salad I think. It was all pretty good. The guacamole is great. After lunch you can venture down to the beach area. They have lounge chairs set up. The water is very warm and it's beautiful. Looks like the corona commercial beach. A short walk up from the water is a little hut that is set up as a bar, all drinks are included in the price. I don't remeber there being any activities more relaxing. So you could always go to another beach for that, but one big plus is that it isn't crowded at all. As far as being bored for five hours I don't think that you will be because it isn't really five hours. First everyone has to load up on the bus then it is about a half hour bus ride, then maybe another 15 minutes to load onto the boat and cross over to the island. It's probably more like three hours or so and that includes the time that you take to eat lunch. I guess the biggest decision maker would be if the $69.00 pp charge is worth it for you. Depends on if lunch, drinks, and an uncrowded beach are worth it to you. There is also Paradise Beach which has no fee and many activities that are also free but you risk the chance of having to fight crowds. I've heard it is a $12.00 taxi ride each way.

scubaman,

They had a volleyball net and played some games on the beach with water balloons. They also have a couple of shops. I went with a group of 8 and none of us were ready to leave when it was time. We were wishing it was a longer excursion. Hope this helps.

cmoglesby,

I think it would be ok for a pregnant woman, the bumpy part of the ride is only a couple minutes long. Most of the ride is on paved roads, its just the last mile or so on a dirt road that is a little bumpy. The ride was about 20 minutes or so. Hope this helps.

They do not have any snorkle equipment available at Passion Island. We did see one person with his own snorkle gear but I don't know if he was seeing anything or not. It was pretty wavy when we were there, I don't know if it always is but it seemed more like a place for body surfing than snorkeling.
