Watching Ventura Sail By...

South Coaster

Recommended Posts

Have just returned from watching Ventura sail past. What a wonderful sight; she looks fabulous - a city lit up and floating majestically by upon inky dark waters! I waited until I saw her cast off via her webcam and then hot footed it down to Weston Shore, from my home in Hamble. As she made her approach down Southampton Water a brilliant firework display lit up the sky and continued until she sailed past. My husband and I were among a few hundred lining the shore. The display of fireworks had been moved back in time and place (from Stokes Bay) because of the strong winds and bad weather, and hence her new departure time of 8.15pm. Bon voyage and happy cruising days ahead to those on board and those counting the days...!!:)
