First Cruise - Beach / Shopping questions

My Girlfriend and I are taking our first cruise on the Fascination to Key West and Cozumel. We can't wait.

I do have a question.

What would be the best way to arrange our excursions in Cozumel?

We are there from 1:00 to 10:00.

We want to just go to a nice beach to swim and snorkel and get some shopping in.

Thanks

Patrick

Do you want to snorkel from shore or by boat? If from shore, I would recommend Playa Uvas. You can make a reservation and see prices at http://www.playauvas.com/price.html . They provide a guide to point out interesting stuff. Snorkeling will be much better if you visit the reefs by boat. I've heard good things about Eagle Ray Divers: http://www.eagleraydivers.com/Snorkel.htm. You could always book a snorkel/beach break through Carnival if that makes you feel more comfortable.

I would save the shopping for the evening.

I hope you guys enjoy your first cruise!

Don't waste $$ booking through the ship. Walk off the ship down the pier to the taxis, they will take you to any beach for under $20 oneway. (Total not per person) Try this link to decide what beach you think would be best for you: http://cozumelmexico.net/Cozumel-Beaches.html We went to Pardise beach a $15 cab ride. Really nice and free to get in and only $10 pp. to use the fun stuff. Get there early, it does get crowded but not terrible.
