Single friend cruising to the Caribbean vs. an Alaska cruise?

What's it like for singles on Caribbean cruises? Me and my wife would like a single friend of ours to come cruising with us on a Caribbean cruise we're already booked on. He thinks Caribbean cruises would be more for couples (more romantic?) and that he'd be a third wheel. But has never been to Caribbean and is interested in it as a destination.

 

He thinks it would somehow be different on a cruise to Alaska, and that he might consider a cruise to Alaska with us.

 

My question is this: wouldn't the singles situation be roughly the same as on an Alaska cruise vs. a Caribbean cruise?

I would think it would be the opposite....more single people on a Caribbean cruise. There are more "outdoor" things to do on a Caribbean cruise....more going on in the pool area, and I think this attracts singles more. Of course, I'm an old married lady, so what do I know. This is just my personal perception.

Having cruised single on both Alaskan and Caribbean routes I can say that there were more singles in the Caribbean routes. Either way though tell him not to worry there will be other singles and he will have a great time.

I agree, we did a cruise with a group and one of the guys in our group was a single cruiser and he had a blast. I would agree that caribbean would be more fun as a single than an Alaska. They even have singles parties on the ship.
