Parking for an Alaskan Cruise

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it is better to park you car at Canada Place or at the Cruise Park site in Vancouver?

I am not quite sure about the prices for either of the sites. However, if there isn't much difference in the price, and you're sailing out of Canada Place, I would park at Canada Place for the convenience.

If you are sailing out of Ballantyne, I would probably go with Cruise Park because they will shuttle you to the pier for free (there is no shuttle between Canada Place and Ballantyne - you would have to take a cab).

If there is a major difference in price between Canada Place and Cruise Park, I'd probably go with Cruise Park.

If you use Canada Place. You have to find a place to park then walk to the booth at the front to pay to get the rate and then back to your car. I found this to be a bit of a pain. It will depend on where you can find a place.

YOu then pack your self to the mid elevator and up to the Cruise level. That parts OK.

Cruise Park shuttles you to both piers and drops you right at the proper spot.

So it sounds like you would recommend the Cruise Park. I am thinking I may just go with that one. Have you tried them before?

When we cruised out of Vancouver we also needed a hotel for the night before we left. We found the ParkSleepFly dot com site to be helpful. We stayed at the hotel the night before our cruise, they let us park our car there for the week, and they had a free shuttle to the cruise dock. It worked out nicely.

I have used Both several times. I would go with whichever one is cheaper and or more convenient when I sail....

I hadn't thought about it but there are a number of hotels out around the airport that do offer stay and park packages but you will likley be faced with a $35/40 cab fare either way. However it may be worth checking with Accent Inns as they may just offer a free shuttle to the cruise terminal?

I don't think the Accent inn offers a shuttle to the Cruise ship terminals. However, one option, if you are staying in Richmond, is to take the Vancouver Shuttle. For $13 dollars, they will shuttle you from certain hotels in Richmond to either Ballantyne or Canada Place. They also offer shuttle services from either cruise ship terminal to YVR and certain hotels in Richmond.

They certainly are an alternative to a cab or the Airporter.
