Back to Back Cruises, anybody done this?

We're doing a back-to-back on the Sensation in Nov. 2005. We have the same room for both cruises. Our PVP says all we have to do is check in with the purser a day or two before the first cruise ends and they will have our new sail & sign card for the second cruise. When everybody is leaving we can just relax on board and walk off later at our leisure. Don't know if this is the same with all ports and/or ships but I think it may be. Just make sure you keep the same stateroom so you won't have to move.

Just did back to back this past 2 weeks on the Glory. Ended up doing west and west due to Jeanne. There were 21 of us and we got off as a group, just got off the ship into the terminal, check through customs, sat for about a half hour, got our new sail and sign cards, and got back on. A few people from the UK opted to go off and shop, (we were in FT. Laud. due to Port Can. being closed) We just enjoyed the pool, it was so quiet!! If you go out, when you come back you just identify yourself as doing back to backs and you go through the skippers club.

Each week will be treated as one cruise. You will have to get off to run your card through that machine. WHen you get back on you will get new cards- even if youhave the same cabin. Tips should be done after each week coz you may or may not have the same wait staff. The menu and shows will be the same the second time around. Its good to do a B2B going to different ports the second week. Kind of breaks it all up. Nothing will be opened on the last/first day for the second week. Breakfast closes at 9am. Some ships do have the pools opened.

There was a couple who sailed with me last year on Spirit on the Southern Caribbean route. I overheard them on the cell phone while waiting in a terminal line. They were talking to their son (who would be picking them up at the airport) They had rebooked on the next sailing, as New England had gotten a pretty good snowstorm while we were out. (they were from Maine)

Must be nice, it's crappy at home lets go for another week.

Barb

I have a few questions, it seems there is no set routine for Back2back cruises, so I just wanted to here about your experience.

Did someone escort you off and back on the ship? Did you attend the shows for both cruises? I plan to watch the first show on one cruise and the second main show on the other.

Thanks

We're doing back to back cruises on the Victory this month (Western and Eastern Caribbean) for our wedding and honeymoon. Our friends and family will be with us for the first but we will be on our own for the second. In terms of cost, we got the second cruise for almost half-price --a deal too good to pass up in our opinion. We'll let you know how things go!
