Poker On The Mercury

If anyone can tell me......We are thinking of taking the Mercury to Hawaii in March of 09 but while on the Millenium last year my hubby found the poker much more expensive than on other ships. We have just convinced him that he can do without the casino for the nights in Hawaii waters(is this still true about it not being open then?) but if he can't play poker tournaments he won't be a happy camper. On another few lines it was about $60 to enter and play each night.

The other choices are Hal and Princess-both more expensive cruises in this case so maybe would even out.Anyone any insight on this?
