Cant Decide

Can anyone help me? Im going on VOS in sep for my honeymoon and I cant decide what excursions to do thay all seem very expensive. We are stopping in

 

villafranche

florence/pisa

rome (Ive already booked one for here)

naples/capri

sicily

 

are any of these ports close to the main attractions that we wouldnt need to book an excursion so we can just explore ourselves. Or are there any you think we could miss out.

 

any advise we be much appreciated

Naples: easy to take a hydrofoil over to the Isle of Capri but very little to see or do, and the Blue Grotto is not very highly rated, as it is expensive and you are only in it for a minute or two.

 

Take the hydrofoil to Sorrento, very very nice town, and then get a taxi to the Amalfi Coast and see the beautiful scenery and have them drive you back to Naples directly. Try to get another couple to go with you to split the cost.

In Villefranche you can take a train to Nice or Monaco and explore on your own.

 

Pisa is about 1/2 hour from the port, and Florence is about an hour away. We used a ship excursion and were very happy with it. I wouldn't have wanted to tackle Florence on my own.

 

In Naples and Palermo you dock right in town, so exploring on your own would be easy.
