I was wondering for the beginning of October if the water is warm enough to go swimming?

We went the second week of October last year, and the water was fairly warm. Plenty of people were in the water swimming.

We were there the 3rd week of October a few years ago. The water was absolutely perfect! Cool enough to be refreshing, but not cold. And, not like bath water, either. Very nice.

http://www.weather.bm has historical data including water temps. Some people can swim when the water is 32 degrees.....especially those from Canada.

Water takes longer to warm up when weather gets warmer and then takes longer to cool off than air temp.

 

October is the best time in Bermuda--not so oppresively hot and humid, and the water is refreshing--not hot!!

We were also in Bermuda early October '07 and the water temp was great...especially when the sun was out. Enjoy! :)

I think ANY month is the best month to visit Bermuda. It's my favorite destination. But, I've been there both in October and June. Both times were glorious and both times were perfect for swimming. I'd say that anytime in between is good. BUT, watch out for hurricanes later in the season. Ya' just never know.....
