We sailed (Adventure of the Sea) 2 weeks ago - 5th Royal Carib cruise. Labadee is a private island which is small enough to tour by foot in about an hour. The ship will set up lunch on the island and has kayak, snorkel and jet ski rental which you can get anytime. They have a new zip line that views over the water that looks cool. This is more of a laid back -"day at the beach" environment. They have a small shopping area that is run by the locals -they are not allowed to approach you except in this area - stay away unless you are looking for local crafts and don't mind being harassed.

San Juan - everyone tours old San Juan and the Fort by foot. Better than expected. No pushy locals. The other option is the rain forest but it takes all day since it is about an hour away by car.

St Maarten - Everyone goes to Orient Beach (8 mile Cab ride) - above average. We rented a Jeep and toured the entire island. Not nearly as nice as expected. As usual - The pictures show off the resort and beach areas. You can actually swim in the bay near the ship and shopping (2 mile cab ride). The downtown boardwalk area is not too bad.

I'm still partial to Bermuda - its the only caribbean island I have been to that looks like the pictures everywhere once you get away from the dock!

Whatever you do will be fun - we needed a lot of sunscreen - still peeling.
