FL LuluBelle Posted May 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2008 Hi, has anyone taken a taxi to Saphire beach from the terminal? If so is it a far ride and do you remember the cost? Thanks, LU

The Islander Posted May 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 15, 2008 Havensight to Sapphire is $10 per person, one way; 20-30 minutes in low/moderate traffic. And $11 from Crown Bay; 30-40 minutes in low/moderate traffic. --Islander

NoVACruiser Posted May 19, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Be careful with how long it takes, especially coming back. In low traffic it may be 20-30 minutes. We were there couple of weeks ago and almost missed the ship. We got picked up 30 minutes late due to traffic and it took us about 1 hr 20 minutes to get back. We were the only ship in port (Havensight) on that day. I can't imagine what the traffic would be with more ships.
chellencrette Posted May 20, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2008 Which days of the week have low/moderate traffic? We will be there on a Tuesday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.....what should we expect?

Gregg20 Posted May 20, 2008 #10 Share Posted May 20, 2008 We were in St. Thomas last Wed. and decided on Coki beach. We did Saphire in '06 and felt that Coki was better. Taxi was $9 pp.
Sandytoes Posted May 26, 2008 #11 Share Posted May 26, 2008 FL LuluBelle I did a review on Sapphire beach Here's the link in case you want to read it http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=610217 As for the taxi, you can arrange for the taxi driver who brought you there to pick you up at a certain time. However, ours came early and left before us. Another taxi was waiting for passengers and we were able to catch a ride with them. Just make sure the taxi is near full, otherwise you'll be waiting and waiting until the driver has a full cab.
FL LuluBelle Posted May 26, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted May 26, 2008 Sandytoes, Thanks for the link to your review. I really enjoyed the pictures. We were at Coki Beach a few years ago and wanted to try Saphire Beach this time. Looks wonderful. Sharon
The Islander Posted June 1, 2008 #13 Share Posted June 1, 2008 Which days of the week have low/moderate traffic? We will be there on a Tuesday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.....what should we expect? Depends on how many ships are in port. Check a schedule for the month you are visiting. More ships = more traffic around the cruise docks and downtown. --Islander
