Qtvagurl11 Posted May 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Has anyone used a water tight case when snorkeling or doing water activities?
cruzinfamilyof4 Posted May 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2008 We use water tight cases when we go to the river. We put our keys, credit cards/money/id in them when we are on the watercrafts and the boat. DH likes the Pelican brand. I don't know how they would work for snorkeling, but they work great on the water crafts.
caskar Posted May 20, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2008 We don't smoke, but DH bought a waterproof cigarette box, hold a package of american style cigarettes. It is excellent when snorkelling. It holds keys, credit card and some money. Just keep the o-ring clean to keep the seal water tight. One other benefit is that it floats on the surface when you are snorkelling. Great way to identify which snorkeler belongs to you. We have recently bought another one so we both have these "id tags". About $20 in the scuba store. rsldonk Posted May 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2008 Second the Pelican. Boxes are much better than the dry bags.

Stevesan Posted May 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 28, 2008 Ive used PADI certified Splash Caddy for ~ten years with good results. Nothing lasts forever, so you do need to replace the Aloksak inserts periodically. They're reasonable priced with a variety of styles and sizes. http://www.watchfuleyedesigns.com/index.cfm?do=list&categoryid=3 http://www.watchfuleyedesigns.com/index.cfm?do=list&categoryid=1 The second link is for the inserts (same order point). You might order a couple extra if you get one of the Splash Caddy models.
azspring Posted May 28, 2008 #7 Share Posted May 28, 2008 We use water tight cases too. Before we go anywhere we test them in the sink to make sure they are water tight.
BuzzF117 Posted May 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2008 I used this exact box on my dive excursions while on Crown in Feb. http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=OB1000 Worked great it held cruise card, credit card, cash , ID and chap stick with sunblock and never got wet one bit. Dove it to 80 ft in BVI and worked like a charm.
