All I had to do was ask!

Very excited, going on the Glory on 8/30/08 and had booked cabin 4B inside cabin # 2338 Main Deck. Called today because I noticed the price had dropped on inside cabins and I was bumped up to 4D Empress Deck 7328. I could have gone all the way to 4G for no extra cost, but I have took the advice of others to heart...cabins above and below. Did I do good?

Congrats and welcome! Here is a cool site that shows all sorts of stuff about the Glory. They have the deck plans on here that they have when you board the ship, the little color coded card. I found it pretty neat to see how easy it was going to be getting to the places we enjoyed on our last cruise.

I originally booked an 8B guarantee and last night while checking prices saw that all catagory 8's A-E were $632 plus taxes. That meant that 8C-8E were only 137.01 more than we paid. I called and we chose an actual cabin on the Lido. DH and I are pretty excited about it, the call was long and I did get the run-around but finally was able to secure it :) Enjoy your cruise~

you did great and its soooo funny because i was trying to figure out a thread with the same heading......all you have to do is ask.....i had posted something to that effect back in "secrets about carnival" and asked if i was unhappy with a cabin what should i do and people were like...r u kidding me?? blah blah blah well i tell you i just got off the valor on 5/11...and not only was i upgraded on my flight from ny to miami to first class when the flight was 3 hrs late departing but i was very happy with the cabin i "got" on the ship...just by asking...i wont go into details because i really dont want to get anyone in trouble at carnival but my answer is....there is nothing to lose by asking nicely:D .....you can read more on my upcoming valor review......congratulations, you did great!

Your so right, I figured the way my call was going lastnight I wasn't going to get the upgrade for the price I saw. I said to DH I bet many people would have taken the no and moved on. I told them I could cancel and rebook and then they seemed to be more accomodating. It never hurts to ask and ask nicely ;)

Did you ask before you left or when you got to the pier?

All im going to say is that you can ask......the TA...the person checking you in at the VIP lounge;) or at pursars....99% of the time they are full BUT there is always that 1% and you never know when its ur turn....just like the casino....BUT i always choose my cabin when i cruise with the exception being this time that i had to use the carnival vacation club points i had left....
