Car Rental location at Port of Tampa?

Hi, I will be arriving on a saturday into Tampa airport and needing to rent a car to drive to Port Charlotte for Sat./ Sunday. I will be returning to Tampa port Monday morning to board the ship for our cruise. Is there a location of any car rental agency to return the car at the port or do i need to go back to the airport and then take a cab to the port? anyone got any easier solutions out there? thanks!

Our friends had the same dilemma. They took the car to the airport while we whisked by and went to the port. They got there about 5 mins. after I had walked down from the parking garage.

enterprise has a location at the airport and the cruise port. no extra charge for dropping off at cruiseport. you may be able to get a code for reduced rates from your employer.

We will be renting a car with National Car on Saturday returning the car on Sunday to go on a cruise out of Tampa. Anyone know if the car rental agency (National or others) will shuttle us to the port upon returning the car?

Hertz lists a location at the port of tampa and at the Marriott Waterside which is close by. From my research last year, I was thinking the port location was for pick-up only, but you can call them at 813-226-4205 for more information.

 

The Marriott Waterside is about a 5 min cab ride away from the port, if that location is an option for you. Or if you dropped the luggage off at the port first, you could return the car to the Marriott and ride the trolley back to the port.
