Prescottcruisers Posted May 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2008 I have some questions about meals on this cruise during port days. Since we will be in port until 7 PM on some days, will they be serving meals in the dining room? For those who have visited Hawaii in Nov/Dec, is the weather rainy that time of the year? How about the sea days are the seas rough that time of the year? Since we will be on the ship until Dec 10th, will the ship be decorated for Christmas? Any help with these questions would be very helpful, Thanks alot Sharie
Cruisin' Chick Posted May 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2008 We took this cruise (the 15-day one) in 2005. I seem to remember the dining room was open even on sea days, but often there's open seating for lunch. We had cool weather (it was the last couple of weeks of December) the first couple of days with rough seas (you'll get these much of the time leaving San Pedro no matter what time of year). After that, we had weather in the 70s/low 80s even back in L.A. No rain, not even in Hilo, which tends to be rainy.
Rare karatemom2 Posted May 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 26, 2008 We just did the Hawaii itinerary on the Diamond over the Christmas holidays. We experienced a bit of rough weather the first day after leaving LA and a bit on the way home, but by and large it was nice. We experienced a brief burst of rain in Kauai and Hilo, but it was a short shower both times and not unwelcome. After the rain you get the rainbows!:) It didn't interfere with our activities at all. The dining room hours are the same everyday, with service beginning in the Anytime dining rooms at 5:30 p.m. If you have traditional dining, you will be seated at your appointed time (either early or late) on port days just as you would on sea days. We were on the ship during the holidays and it was decorated throughout, but I'm not sure if it would be decorated before December 10.
