Tintown Posted May 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2008 We are not really interested in going into the Casino, but would like to get some chips to bring back for souvenirs as some people have asked us to do this. Do you have to pay admission and buy a set number of chips, or can you just buy a few? I know it sounds odd to ask this, but is there anywhere else you can purchase them? Thanks for your help. Ephraim Posted May 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2008 You must pay admission to the casino. They charge €10 to enter the casino, the last time I was there (and according to the website, but private rooms are double that). Also, you must show your passport, since Montegascans are not allowed entry to the casino, it is strictly for tourists. Frankly between the architecture and the toilet that washes it's own seat, I thought it was well worth it. Though, their slot machines were a bit odd for me, for the most part. The minimum bets are quite steep. I think the smaller casinos (instead of the main casino) have lower minimums, but I don't think there is anything under €10 in the way of "chips". The private rooms have a minimum bet of €80. Baccarat is only in the private rooms and start at €100. One further note, after certain hours and in the private rooms there are generally attire requirements including forbidding sport shoes. Also, no official or military uniforms are allowed, ever. Nora4sure Posted May 27, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2008 I was thinking id do the same thing for souveneirs to a couple of casino fans back home. In place of that are there souveniers that could be bought without going into the casino? N

N Societe des bains de mer has a number of other casinos, in fact there is one besides the main casino that charges no entry fee. There were a few shops near the Cafe de Paris casino, if I remember correctly.
