Don Haynes Posted June 2, 2008 #26 Share Posted June 2, 2008 If you have never seen Seattle before, why hurry? You'll probably never get a chance to see Seattle again. Spending a few hours riding the ferries is wonderful way to pass the time and get a great view of the Sound beyond downtown. Book a hotel for the night and leave the next day early, before the crowds. Seattle has to have the worst security lines I have ever seen anywhere. Its not just the cruise ships. Seattle is so detached from most of the states, no one ever thinks about driving the distance. Everyone flies. If you arrive at the airport past 9 AM, security is miserable. So why not arrive at the airport the next morning say around 7 AM? Beat the crowds, avoid cruisers at the airport, and spend a wonderful day in Seattle. Fly early the next day. Ms belp Posted June 2, 2008 #27 Share Posted June 2, 2008 We stayed for the better part of 2 days after leaving the Pearl. We extended our vacation, riding the Hop On, Hop Off, going to Pike's Market and seeing all the wonderful stalls. Our favorite was taking the "Duck" tour which was the best. Captain Greg was awesome; he was so much fun. We stayed in hotels with views of the Space Needle and (once, Mt. Ranier). We went to Alki Beach, had seafood takeout, and ate on the beach. It was a wonderful way to end our cruise, and did not break the bank either. Of course, we always use Southwest Airlines; they are affordable and fun!
