magandanae Posted May 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2008 DH and I decided to cancel an excursion we had booked for Grand Turk a week ago becuase we just weren't excited for it and think there is something better awaiting us. Anyways my question is will Carnival apply that as an OBC or will the refund my debit card I used to book it with. For anyone that has booked one and canceled before please let me know! old sole Posted May 30, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2008 They will credit your CC, and are usually quite prompt. If you can check activity on your CC online you should be able to see it. Simply click “Edit/Modify My Shore Excursion Orders” at the bottom of the itinerary box on the My Reservation page. You will be automatically issued a full refund to the credit card that was used to pay for the shore -excursion order. Please allow 7-10 business days for the credit to post to your account. No changes can made within the cut-off window. If you need to make changes after the cut-off date, you must wait until sailing and see the Shore Excursion Manager onboard. In the event of a cruise booking cancellation within the cut-off window, a full refund will be automatically posted to the credit card used to pay for the order. If the designated contact person on a shore excursion order cancels their cruise booking and the remaining guests who are sailing would like to retain the shore excursion order, a new contact person needs to be assigned. If a designated contact person cancels and does not reassign the responsibility, the associated shore excursion orders will be automatically canceled and payment will be refunded. Once you are onboard the ship, your cancellations are subject to a 25% cancellation charge. However, all shore excursion orders are non-refundable within 24 hours of arrival in port. A refund, less any applicable cancellation charges, will be applied to the designated contact person’s sail and sign account. Carnival will only offer shipboard credit for shore excursion order refunds. Do they give you a cheaper rate? as I was told that excursions very rarely have a sell out, if they get full they order another boat or whatever they need to offer it to the remaining people? patman2761 Posted May 31, 2008 #9 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Booking an excursion in advance is cheaper . The prices are anywhere between $5.00 to $7.00 per person cheaper than buying on board. We had an excursion in Nassau which was a beach break with a swim with stingrays. Well, the day before in Half Moon cay we were burnt and wished we would of booked a city tour instead of another one out in the sun. An hour before the excursion we were gonna eat the tickets when we bought the Pirate tour excursion tickets. Carnival said "no problem." I like knowing what we are going to do and pay for them in advance. That was all the cash I am walking with on board is fun money not reserved for anything special. I'm not sure thats why I'm asking. Thanks. Not only is it a little cheaper, but you can spread the costs out instead of having it as a lump sum on your Sail & Sign.
