Query on Cagliari Excursion

I am booked on Independence on 9 August 2008 and I have a query regarding an excursion from Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. The excursion is called "Poetto Beach Shuttle" and reference number is CI09.

 

I wonder whether anyone reading this has done this excursion and can help me.

 

The description on the RCCL internet site is as follows:

 

"Poetto is the name of the beautiful beach on the outskirts of Cagliari. White sand extending for many miles and clear blue waters make this area the favourite summer destination of the natives. The bus, departing from the pier, will take you to Ottagono Seaside Resort where your two chairs and one umbrella per every 2 adults have been reserved. Upon arrival, your escort will accompany you inside to the section of beach that has been specially reserved for your group. In the Ottagono, you have will have ample space, toilets, showers (for an additional fee), assistance, lifeguard, first aid, bar, cafeteria, snack bar, and kids park. The drop off point will also be the pickup point for returning to the ship. The escort on the bus will be happy to assist you while at the resort."

 

The description in the printed Shore and Land Excursions brochure downloaded from the RCCL internet site is as follows:

 

"Poetto is the name of the beautiful beach on the outskirts of Cagliari. White sand extending for many miles and clear blue waters make this area the favourite summer destination of the natives. The bus, departing from the pier, will take you to the "Quinta Fermata", the centre of the Poetto area. The drop off point will also be the pickup point for returning to the ship. Upon arrival, you will have many choices. You can enjoy the beach as it is or you can rent a beach umbrella or a sun bed, or you can rent a hut in one of the Beach Clubs where you have private facilities. You van find public restrooms and showers scattered along the beach or private ones located in the beach clubs. The escort on the bus will be happy to assist you."

 

 

As you can see, these two descriptions are fundamentally different. The first sounds much better as you are going to a private resort and you are provided with a chair and umbrella. The second description sounds like you are just dropped off at a public beach.

 

If the first description is correct then I will book this excursion for my family of 4. If the second description is correct then I will not book it.

 

Does anyone know which description is correct?
