SpudLand Posted June 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2008 I am sailing the last week of November 2008 to the Eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas and St. Maaten. Anyone who can provide advice on the better of these two ports for Scuba diving (locations, dive sites, suggestions). I am certified and experience but have never been diving in either of theses two locations. I do not object to a cruise ine excrusion or if a off the line dive factiliy can be recommended. bruce-r Posted June 2, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2008 My preference would be St. Thomas over St. Maarten by a considerable margin. I like http://www.admiraltydive.com for diving in St. Thomas. They pick up from the cruise dock for your convenience.
Pilot70D Posted June 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 2, 2008 While neither port has truly great diving, St. Thomas is better than St. Maarten. Admiralty does a really good job with dives there in St. Thomas. We went diving with them on two separate trips and they did a really good job both times. If you are going on to other eastern Caribbean ports you might want to do your diving then. St. Lucia, Dominica, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao all have much better diving. Enjoy that next dive excursion. Hope this info is helpful
