Monaco

Hello all. We are on the Carnival Freedom July 9 sailing. Recently, the itinerary was changed and Carnival substituted Monaco for Cannes, as one of the stops. I have been checking Carnival's web site for ship-sponsored excursions in Monaco but none are posted yet. Does anyone know when this might happen?

 

Also, can anyone recommend a reputable PRIVATE tour operator in that area and towns that should be visited?

I took a group with Dream Tours from Cannes TO Monaco with stops at Eze, St. Paul de Vence and Monaco. They were great! Their website is http://www.dream-tours.com/ They do private tours from the port of Monaco as well and came highly recommended on Cruise Critic. We were not disappointed.

 

They recommend a stop in Nice but if I were you, I would skip Nice altogether as it's a pretty large city - lots of traffic - and there's lots of miles to cover in that area. We had them skip Nice and it saved a lot of time. We had more time to spend in the medieval villages and Monaco with a nice lunch at St. Paul de Vence.

 

It's a beautiful area! You'll have a great time.
