Ocruise Posted April 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Hi. I priced Jet Blue for our San Juan cruise & their prices were a good deal better. I have never flown JetBlue before & am thinking of doing so. The only thing is their planes seem small, are they? (I usually fly on the big Airbusses w/ over 200 passengers, so 150 seater seems small. Does your flight seem bumpier on these smaller planes? (I ask this because I tend to be a nervous flyer) Thanks for any feedback, Marina
DMorris Posted April 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2004 A friend of mine says Jet Blue is a great airline. He has flown them and loves them. Roomier seats and leg room. I think you will be fine. Can't answer about the bumpier flights or not. dznymom Posted April 6, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Jet Blue was just named number #1 in an Airline Quality Ranking study. Here's a link: http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/business/2486715 As far as bumpy flights, that is driven by weather and Clear Air Turbulence. I don't think there is a relationship between aircraft size and bumps like there can be on ships. As an air traffic controller for the last 20 odd years, I have no indication that there is any difference in the effects of turbulence or chop on a B737 versus an Airbus or other larger jet. I always fly Southwest who solely uses B737, and I swear by them. But Jet Blue has outfitted their B737s with more leg room, leather seats, and individual televisions at each seat. If they flew out of my airport, I would fly them in a heartbeat. jannygranny Posted April 6, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 6, 2004 We flew JetBlue to Las Vegas and loved the airline. Seats were comfortable and the individual TVs great. I wish they flew to Miami as we leave on the Brilliance on 4/19 out of Miami. Janet
Erie Dave Posted April 6, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Jet Blue flies only Airbuss A130's--brand new and roomy. TonyRic Posted April 6, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I flew Jet Blue Boston to Long Beach early in March and loved it. No meals, but that is ok, I am more than happy to save 20-30% and not eat that awful airline food anyway. Good service, comfortable seats, the way flying should be. Littlegoo75 Posted April 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I absolutely ADORE JetBlue. The best airline ever. I can't believe how cheap the flights are - you would think they would be a premium airline. If I were you, I would Book with them and not think twice. I think you can even cancel without a penalty - but I'm not sure. I flew them from D.C. to Oakland, Ca. and it was a wonderful flight - you have your own personal TV with cable. I watched Game Show Network the whole flight. The extra legroom is great. They are a growing airline and are expanding to different cities as they acquire new planes. I wish they had a Dulles - San Juan route. I wish Jetblue would venture into the cruising industry - "Ship Blue". Carnival Pride 4/27/02 Sitmar Fairsea 4/ 1983 ( I was just a little kid!!) dznymom Posted April 6, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 6, 2004 Oops - I stand corrected! Yes indeed, Jet Blue flies AirBus A320's, not B737s. They are a growing airline and will be adding some smaller jets down the line, but an A320 is by new means a small jet! Coppertan Posted April 6, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I have to agree with the previous posters. JetBlue is a great airline! I just wanted to add that the crew, starting from the ticket check in to the gate, to the plane, they were all fantastic, and had a sense of humor, and most were actually Smiling! Too bad they're not flying out of Newark, or I'd be using them every time!
CTKath Posted April 6, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I've flown Jetblue to Florida twice now. I'm waiting for November to open up so that I can book my trip to Las Vegas (they have the best times out of NYC) and I plan on using them next year when it's time to book to San Juan. karen_cpa Posted April 6, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 6, 2004 love jet blue!! took them to salt lake city about 2 years ago for a tax conference. honestly, i prefer the smaller airlines - jet blue, southwest - over the big guys. their prices are better, better service and who can beat the TV's on jet blue?? Littlegoo75 Posted April 6, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I always liked Southwest for their low prices, and laid-back fun atmosphere, but hated the seating procedures, and yucky colored interiors. Jet Blue has the low prices, the fun laid back atmosphere, a soothing blue interior and all the plusses you could ever want. They don't serve meals, but they keep you filled up with snacks. I would love to see where they are in 5 years - maybe international? Well beyond D.R.
