Scuba Diving in Roatan, Honduras

Where is the best place to go scuba diving and which companies do you all recommend? Thanks!

We have loved the shore (and boat) diving with CoCo View Resort. They can arrange for a driver to be at the pier to pick you up, although I believe the fare is a bit steep unless there's more than 2 of you. The little ship wreck off their reef is a great opportunity for picture taking, and the snorkelers in your group will also enjoy it. We have also dove with Sueno Del Mar ( http://www.suenodelmar.com/ ) off the West End and had some beautiful boat dives. Again they picked us up at the pier however I don't think they charged for this. We did get quite a few sand flea bites at the West End (and we were only on the beach a very short time) so be sure to buy their "cactus juice" or whatever it is to prevent those little buggers from getting you! :)

I'll second CoCoView- you can get three nice dives in during your stop in port. Have fun!

DH and son always use Subway in Roatan. (www.subwaywatersports.com) Owner Patrick Zingg will pick you up at pier. You are usually only ones on boat. Patrick is very flexible for times and sites. Best of all, Subway is located at a lovely resort (Turquoise Bay- & it is turquoise!) Non-divers/snorkelers are welcome to hitch a ride, bask on the beach, swim in the pool, and enjoy their yummy inexpensive restaurant. The guys like it so much that they want to go to Roatan for a dive trip- without the cruise!
