Best Place to Just Hang Out on Beach

What is the best restaurant/bar area to hang out at on Corona Beach?

We will be a large group of about 28, ages ranging from 5 to 60. We would like a place where we could get good margaritas, beer, food and fun on the beach for all ages and maybe just a little shade for some.

 

Also we are interested in renting wave runners. Will we need a drivers license to rent one?

Corona Beach is actually the beach front for a restaurant in Progreso (Eladio's), all the beach area at Progreso is public and some of the 12 to 15 restaurants in front of the sea board have their "palapas" and tables and chairs to be right at the beach and to be served from beers, soft drinks, food, margaritas. The Corona beach area is the "crowded" one on a ship day and I'm not sure if there is an entrance fee. There is no wave runners rentals nor sand buggies as it is not permitted to use it for safety reasons. Hope it helps.

Thanks for your reply. Ours is the only ship in port that day, so hopefully it won't be too crowded. But that's ok, we're on vacation so all is good!

 

The guys will be disappointed about the wave runners, but I can understand why they would'nt be allowed. I'm sure they can find something else to do;), there's always girls to watch!

Don't give up yet Jamers. Here is a pic from our second to last cruise that clearly shows a waverunner in the background. They ARE for rent, just not sure what the name of the place is that rents them. Hope this helps :)

Thanks Kingfish, this is something they were really wanting to do. We'll just have to spend some time walking the beach.
