My family & I are going on the Carnival Valor March 09. Heard Orient Beach is very nice. Is it easy to catch a cab there & back from the port? Are there resteraunts & bars along the beach? Are there shops near by? Any suggestions would be helpful. My daughters & I want to lay on the beach & do some shopping. Thanks.

You will love the Valor. Yes Orient Beach is very nice and there are restaurants along the beach, I think there are also places that serve alcohol as well. I dont know about taxi's back as I was on a guided tour and the tour driver came back to pick us up after our 2 hrs at the beach. Enjoy!

When you get off your cruise ship, to the right behind the building there are taxi stands. All quotes are set as far as prices and regulated. You can ask your driver to come back for you or you can simply go off the beach and out to the dirt road and hail another taxi going back. I have been there several times and have never had a problem. Enjoy...beautiful place to explore.
