Entertainment on the Star

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

We were on the Star in late April and early May. We had a great time! As far as entertainment, there were several options. A couple of nights a singing and dancing troupe, Jean Ann Ryan Company, had theme shows such as a 70s night and a Cirque de Soleil show. A comedy team did an improv show and there was a magician as well.

Musically, the ship's "show band" was wonderful and did their own performance one day. Other musicians played each night in the different lounges. There was a Motown-style singer, an acoustic guitar player/singer, a couple of piano players/singers (standards and Harry Connick-type music), and I think one or two other musicians. My husband and I really enjoyed hearing a couple of the lounge musicians each night--Chris May on piano and Sean Burns on guitar.

On the first night, they have a big show which showcases most (not all) of the performers, so you can get an idea of what you want to see during the week.

Hope this helps. Have a wonderful time!
