phychoice Posted June 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2008 Has anyone done the Ultimate Island Experience excursion at St. Thomas? Would you recommend for adults and kids?
AndrewGWU Posted June 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2008 Just got back from our week on AOS and did the Ultimate Island Experience. This excursion is fine for kids. They will pick you up from the pier and drive you to 3 different lookouts on the island, one looking out towards St. John, another overlooking the harbor and the cruise ship, and the last overlooking Megan's Bay. They will then drive you to Megan's Bay for 2 hours on the beach and lastly drop you off at "Blackbeards Castle" where you can explore restored houses on your way down the hill to downtown. You are then reponsible for your transportation back to the ship at your leisure ($4 per person). I would recommend the following: - be prepared for the beach. many on our tour didn't bring swim suits or towels and seemed rather bored at the beach for 2 hours. Make sure you bring along some cash if you want to rent beach chairs as they are not included as a part of the tour. There is also a small bar and restaurant for snacks. - Blackbeards Tower is on top of a steep hill and it's all stairs on the way down (Inclusing the famous "99 steps"). Along the way there are little historic buildings to visit but make sure you're up for it. Otherwise there appeared to be a shuttle that would people down to the bottom of the hill - Make sure when leaving you get the price from the driver of the taxi for bringing you back to the pier. It should be $4.

Cruising Lions Posted June 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2008 My wife & I did this tour and it was not bad. I don't know if your kids would be thrilled.
