janines Posted June 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2008 I would like some info on the Ice Bar in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Is it worth the cost? Can you get better price making private reservations? janines

MoBro713 Posted June 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2008 We did the ice bar in Stockholm with our two children, ages 22 and 24. We booked it ourselves and it was the last place we visited before returning to the ship (Crown Princess). It's definitely for the tourists but that's what we were. There were only about a dozen people in the bar, all US or Brits. Everyone was friendly and it was a fun way to end our day in Stockholm. Beware, it is very cold and they give you a nice poncho to wear, but our feet were freezing.
Big Al B. Posted June 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 23, 2008 In comparison to a shore excursion, I would think that doing it privately would be less. You would have to figure in the cost of getting to the bar. Also it might be harder to get a reservation since the shore excursions might fill the spots. nonrev1 Posted June 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 23, 2008 We went to the Ice Bar in Copenhagen and booked it on our own. The cruise ship blocked space during the day and the first reservation that was open for "others" to book was at 5:00 pm. This worked well for us since our ship was in port for 2 days. We had a great time...yes, it is touristy, but we thought it was worth it. You can save a lot of money booking it on your own.

We arrived a day early and did it in the early evening. Check out our review and pics at http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/baltic.html Have a GREAT cruise!
