seafood Posted June 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2008 Has anyone stayed at either of these downtown Seattle hotels? Which would you choose for a one night post-cruise stay in September? How far are these hotels from Pike Place Market? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to decide. :o Thanks in advance for any responses. Silver Cloud Stadium is about 2.5-3 miles from the market down 1st Av north, the Hyatt is within walking distance (about 1=1.25 miles). The Silver Cloud is a new (less than one year) mid-level property. The Hyatt has been around for a while, and is more of a standard Hyatt luxury property. Silver Cloud is directly across the street from both Safeco and QWest Fields and is closer to Pioneer Square. The Hyatt is in central downtown. Rare Gardyloo Posted June 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2008 We have a lot of friends who are frequent business travelers to Seattle, and 100% of them feel the Hyatt is the best hotel in town, in terms of location, comfort, service. Better than the Olympic, Westin, Sheraton, and all the boutiques. Just a data point for you. The Pike market is just over a mile from the Stadium Silver Cloud. There are 20 blocks to the mile in Seattle. The last 10 of those blocks are a gentle uphill walk, although from Jackson St. (around 6 blocks' equivalent - there aren't too many cross streets in between) you're in the free bus zone, so any bus going up/down First Avenue is free. nannie70 Posted June 30, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Just returned from Seattle (27th) from our Alaska Cruise. We stayed at the Hyatt the day before the cruise. We found it to be very comfortable and at the right place to stay. Walked to Pikes Market (about 6 blocks) and took a cab back. Walked around the corner for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and had breakfast at the Sheraton in the morning before the cruise. The cab to the ship took about 10 minutes. We liked the Hyatt very much. Hope this helps
