fchoppa Posted June 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2008 I will be cruising in July with a 5,9 and 11yo. I am trying to figure out what we can do at night after dinner. Having 3 kids I do not want to pay for the group sitting fees everynight. Besides the show, after dinner what else is there to do? Thanks in advance Felicia Edited to add we are sailing Carnivals Inspiration
Kerry's Girls Posted June 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2008 We go dancing every night after dinner. We just stay off to the side or in the back where we're away from those having an adult evening and dance in our own little area. There is also usually some kind of game or theme party besides the show each night - though often it starts late so those from both seatings can enjoy. The pools on some ships are also open in the evening - not sure about Carnival. Best, Mia
NanciRDH Posted June 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2008 Camp Carnival is still free before 10:00 pm, after that the fees start piling on. This works great for our family because the evening show ends just in time for pickup, and by then I'm ready to settle in, especially if its been a busy day. We do maybe one late night every cruise if DH and I want to go dancing or make a donation in the casino. :) but usually we're done by midnight, so that's only 2 hours we need to pay for. Some ships really make a great big deal out of the "late night party zone", and our 2nd dd really felt like she was missing out on something because on that cruise we had grandma with us to keep the kids after 10:00 (her choice, she's an early bird) So we let her stay one night, and there were so few kids it was more of a "keep quiet and watch a movie zone" and she was bored. NanciRDH Posted June 26, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2008 That same dd is now 11, and will choose Camp over the show anynight, its tht much fun for her...as long as there's other kids to play with!
CeleBrat Posted June 27, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2008 We usually catch the shoe, either with or without the kids, wander around the ship once or twice, then head off to bed--by 10:30ish. Sometimes, we'll grab a late-night ice cream from the buffet. Most recently, my DS (7) discovered foosball, so he would spend all of his after-dinner time hanging out with the other kids on deck playing foosball. Cruisin' Chick Posted June 27, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2008 My girl has been enjoying the production shows since her first cruise at 23 months (we sat near the exit for that show just in case).
