macduff506 Posted June 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2008 can anyone tell me if they know how the bay is expected to behave this weekend coming... travelling on Independence from Southampton. Have checked the shipping forecast but cant make head nor tail of it!! Any sensible answers welcome!!!
PennyAgain Posted June 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2008 "Biscay: Variable 3 or 4, but southwesterly 5 in north. Slight or moderate, occasionally rough in north. Showers. Moderate or good." I would say 'average'. Rough weather is anticipated for Dover due to a front coming through. Not a good time for channel crossings. Biscay is further south and although it can be awful, this isn't the worst possible summer forecast.

PennyAgain Posted June 27, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2008 I prefer gin! Tablets make me sleepy! Be out on deck when your ship sails away from Southampton. Sights not to be missed. Very pretty on a fair day. I think you were looking at the shipping forecast which is the dog's dinner. I looked at the weather forecast. Big difference!
