raffi92 Posted July 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2008 In 2 weeks time I will be heading to Alaska for a 10 night Cruisetour aboard the Millenium. I was just reading in the guest ticket booklet that cruisetour land exursions cannot be purchased onboard the vessel. We were wanting to book the Whitewater Rafting tour while in Denali. The two options we have are going at either 6:00PM or 7:30AM. I was wondering anyone could provide any input on what time would be best for doing this at and if they have previously done this excursion? Thank you very much
AAL Posted July 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2008 The whitewater rafting is lots of fun -- I've done it several times. Several companies offer it, so if you don't like Celebrity's times, you might want to arrange it yourself. However, the two times offered by Celebrity might be the times that will fit in with your other excursions, like the Denali tour. The rafting will be the same at either time -- your choice just depends on whether you like to get up early (I don't) or can cope with an early or late dinner that day. raffi92 Posted July 10, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 10, 2008 Do you have any suggestions on what companies are best to do the whitewater rafting with? Our biggest question with the times was whether or not you would see more wildlife in the morning or at night. Thanks for your help.
mateusz Posted July 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2008 I did the whitewater 7-6 through Celebrity for the 7:30 am trip. We were told by our guide that we wouldn't see much wildlife on the whitewater trip, and we didn't. But it was a well run excursion. You can book this excursion through your tour director once you start the land tour. We booked ours online before the cruise
