Rare david,Mississauga Posted July 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I've made five crossings in October: three to or from New York and two on the northerly route from Montreal to Southampton. All of those voyages had some very good weather and I don't recall any that were particularly "bumpy." But as everyone will say in answer to a question such as yours, you must be prepared for anything.
flag fan Posted July 14, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Two years ago I was on a late October crossing and the sea was very smooth; no bad weather at all (although temperature was cool or brisk, not warm enough for shirtsleeves).
msk68 Posted July 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 14, 2008 We crossed in October 05. We had one night of rough seas (I got the shot) but it was also because I spent time up in the Commodore Lounge while we were going through the rough seas and really felt the effect of the increased wave activity. Other than that one night - it literally was smooth sailing. Remember to bring a jacket though - it can be a bit chilly. Have a great trip!
